Swot is a relatively safe game, as the racket has a shorter handle and the ball larger than a squash ball..
However, it is recommended that:-
- Eyewear be worn to protect the eyes from a hit with the racket.
- A mouthguard will protect the teeth.
- If there is any vision impairment consult your Medical Practitioner before commencing to play.
- Always ask for a "let" if in danger of hitting your opponent.
Swot Safety

Swot Safety Supervision
For safety sake be aware of the following:
- Children should be supervised, especially when using rackets.
- Set safety guidelines for children/parents, eg define NO GO areas.
- Use chalk lines, or coloured tape in setting up rules for the hitting area, eg
- Player A in Red Square, Player B in Yellow Square.
- Define hitting areas with a barrier.
- Clear the playing area of any objects that could cause an accident, eg tripping, falling.
- Care of equipment, eg put the rackets down (do not throw them).
