Ideas on Developing a Club/Association Web Site

When there are no paid employees it can be a big task for one person to gather, and keep up to date, all the information required for a web site.
The following idea will help get the ball rolling, eg
  • 1. Call a meeting of the committee, and include club personnel who could be an asset to the "web team".
  • 2. Seek/appoint a Web Co-ordidnator whose duties would be to assist or teach members of the team carry out the technical computer tasks, eg
    • saving photos for inclusion on the site
    • uploading photos
    • emailing  of reports, results, etc to the appropriate person for edit.
    • inserting policies, rules and regulations for affiliated members to access.
  • 3. Formulate Sub-headings for inclusion in the site, eg
    • History of the Club/Association
    • Hall of Fame/Legends
    • Rules & Regs/Policies
    • Calendar of Events
    • Committee
    • Results
    • Affiliated Clubs
    • News
    • Q & A
    • Coaches
    • Courses
    • Links
  • 4. Appoint a committee member to head a team to get each of the above areas up and running.
  • 5.Identify scouts for recruitment as reporters, photographers, to keep the members motivated to get behind the projects and complete the details.
  • 6. Establish a time line to get all the basic structure in place.
