Any advice on how to train into picking my shots better, i played my club captain yesterday and he said i played good shots but attacked at the wrong time, this is something i have heard a lot but don't know how to improve. Any tips?

i might as well have my say as well.
viper is correct but only to a point. it all depends on what attack means.
attacking does not necessarily mean going for a winner. to me, attacking could mean:
- making a volley when it might be easier to let it go to the back wall or
- playing a two wall boast unexpectedly (when previously you play drives)
- hitting the ball earlier rather than later just about any time
even when playing an attacking game, you still need to be patient. matches are usually won on the opponents mistakes rather than your winners, but you still have to apply pressure to force the mistakes

My point is, on a different note, do not always practice to win. That is a hard call I know. Practice is practice and without structuring your practice/training strategies do not develop automatically. Or, take 100 years to come to furition! Change happens when we ourselves decide to change things.
Enjoy the challenge...remember, Hashim Khan said in his book "he happy he win, you happy you do few good shots".....winning is not the only thing.
