Squashgame.info started out about 4 years ago as a desire by Rita Paulos and me to make available our vast collection of resources developed over many years involved in Squash.
We used much of it to develop resources for Squash associations, but our experiences in with dealing with committees brought us to the view that we wanted to cut out the middle man and deal directly with the players, coaches and enthusiasts.
At the time we thought we could get something substantial up in about 12 months. How wrong we were!
Although we had a huge amount of material available to us, we faced two big obstacles:
1. Our combined knowledge of web pages and the internet was meagre at best
2. We did not have the many thousands of dollars required to employ a web developer to build the site
While there did not seem to be a lot of hope that squashgame.info would ever become a reality, we persevered. About 5 versions of the site and 4000 hours later, we are now online.
After sorting out any teething problems which might arise over the next three to four weeks, we will, on average, introduce at least one new page, or feature to the site each week. We have a considerable amount of content in the advanced stages of development right now.
The final piece of the jigsaw will be the input of the members. There are a number of interactive features that we have planned which will make it easy to have your say, whether it be your opinions in our squashgame forum, technical articles or interesting or amusing Squash stories. (See below)
Now that we are on line, our aim is to make the great game of Squash just that little bit better because of the presence of squashgame.info
