aprice - we have had lots of forum discussion/topics on stringing, restringing, strings, string tensions, stringing machines and the link above has lots of discussion which might be helpful. Have a search around the archives first and then see what questions/answers are missing.
Sorry, I cannot answer about the difference in the gauge of tennis to squash strings and how much difference that makes.
PS - Arthur here is the technifiibre link
which gives the gauges of the strings and does not mention squash but I see RED is 1.25, and the range goes to 3.5 - they have a contact so give them an email with your query as your problem may not be so bad yet.
