 Hi,

I am an intermediate female player who currently uses a Head 135 CT racket, but I am in need of a new racket and am thinking about Karakal.  Does anyone have any experience with the Karakal Crystal 125 or Karakal rackets in general?  The reason I want to switch brands is that Head grips are too big and rectangular for my hand, but I like my current Head racket in general although I am hoping to try a lighter racket around 125g.  I prefer an evenly balanced racket.

Any and all racket recommendations, Karakal or otherwise, would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Karakal Crystal won't dissapoint you for sure, just be aware the frames are really stiff. I checked 125 g and it felt really good. Personally I am with Karakal Tec-Gel 120.

Hi RH2,

I use Karakal rackets (the TEC series). I've owned a TEC-GEL 120 but it was just too light for me and so now I use the TEC-Lite 130s. What I can say is that the TEC-GEL 120 had a great feel to it and my wife used it a few times and found it to be just right. The balance can be effected by using different guage strings and different types (and number!) of grips, so going for an even balance might take a bit of tweaking if you were to go for one of these rackets.

I came from using the Dunlop Pro GTs (very head light) and found the TEC series from Karakal to be more evenly balanced, but some of my club-mates feel that they are slightly head heavy (although they too have used even-balance and head light Dunlops with 2 grips, so it's difficult to get a fair representation).

I would say that these models are quite stiff feeling, so they'd probably be a close match to the Head rackets (at least the ones I've tried!).

Hope you find what you're looking for!

Good luck
