I have been privy to a couple of weekly reports from a Road Show that started in Perth and travelled to Kalgoorlie. Some details are:
A keen squashie from Perth has developed and had manufactured Inflatable Mini-squash Courts (the concept of a Jumping Castle). Mike Cornish (WA) who is a well known coach, and Noel Forster (Qld) also a coach, together with a couple of young squashies are on the road with two courts setting up the sessions in regional area schools.
The report speaks in large numbers of kids doing 6 classes a day giving 140 children exposure to squash with some littlies using Big Hand equipment (the brainchild of Dr Ken Watson, Lv 2 Coach and his partners). The venues are mostly in covered areas, eg basketball courts, hopefully out of the 30o heat.
It is a true Road Show and coaching at junior squash clubs along the way. This is the second week and kids on court have totalled 1492, not bad for 2 courts and 4 energetic fellas.
