Sometimes we make so much effort getting to the ball, the racket is the last thing to be "ready". What to do:

• Get the racket into the "ready" position, as you turn your shoulders/body to chase the ball.
• Try not to wave the racket about, like wings, as though flying.
• Control the wrist, and that will control the swing, which in turn will control the ball.
