quick question - i find that sometimes on my back hand when i hit the ball the ball comes back in the same diection as from i hit it.  this means that the ball is too loose.

i reckon im probably standing too squasre to the side wall - any ideas?  or how do i keep my shots tighter to the wall

thanks!!

Dicey - Welcome to the forum.  The Squash Library is the first point of reference when you are having a problem.  Also check out Relevant Content in the column on the left for other forum discussion.

You are right, you are probably too close to the ball, and moving straight into the ball path to strike it, and this is why new players tend to hit lots of cross court.  Side on to the ball is the best approach as you will see in the Library photos.  It is a pain when your own shots hits you, but a bigger pain when you then have to give the point to the opponent.

Check out these diagrams for body positioning and front wall targets.

Keep us posted on your progress.
