In response to 'Pro' Scoring bandwagon rolls on...
This is one area where I think we do not need consistency between Squash at different levels. The professional game, and even that of highly trained juniors is a world away from how most club and recreational players play squash. There is no need to treat un-equal things as being equal.
As I understand it PARS was introduced to shorten the Pro games, IMO this was a good decision. There must be a cutoff though (at some level of play) where PARS stops being helpful and just makes squash too quick.
The article may have been a little dramatic to suggest that PARS will eventually filter to all levels of the game, but it's possible.
Most club players don't have a low enough error rate and rally-building style of play to get a decent run out of PARS to 11, with only 3 guaranteed games.
What do you think? Where should the cut off be?

mike - I consider PARS to be a format, not a rule. There are many comp formats, eg handicap, timed squash, round robin, first to 31, best of 3, best of 5 and so on mostly to suit the variable factors you mention.
Yep, we have to stick to rule changes, eg one serve, and the format chosen will depend on many factors, ie time frame, number of players, standard, divisions, etc.
No worries.
