Today i-squashmedia has made a lengthy official announcement of the retirement of Anthony Ricketts from the professional circuit following knee surgery.  Anthony could return to full fitness following repair to cartlidge damage.

Here is what squashsite have to report.

It is indeed a sad day for pro squash to lose such a great and exciting player. If it is indeed because of the elbow injury, it almost seems cruely ironic that the guy who was always the strongest and fittest player on the tour should be forced to bow out due to his body letting him down.....

If the news of Ricketts' retirement was anywhere it would be on the Squash Australia site but I cannot see anything in their articles or recent archives.

Anthony had spoken about having an operation on the elbow and meantime was relying on injections......so I guess we just wait for something official to come out.
