due to demand from our members over a long period i have finally added subscription of any post in the forum.

at present you, have to subscribe by clicking on the link at the top of the post - there is no auto subscription (eg when you create a thread) but i am happy to accept feedback on this.

as someone who does not like to get dozens of emails on the same thing, i have also restricted email notifications of changes to posts to once every 24 hours . in other words, once emails are sent to subscribers, any updates to that post within 24 hours will not generate further emails.

i will also accept feedback on that feature.

let me know if there are problems - i will be subscribed to this post!

you will notice that when rita put in her post (which is something different to what you are talking about) you will have got an email but when i did earlier, you did not get an email.

the reason?

my post was less than 24 hours after your post from which the original email was generated

rita's post was more than 24 hours after your post from which the emails were generated

in other words, once you get an email, you need to keep an eye on things for yourself, for a 24 hour period after the email was sent. after that, the system will send a further email if the post is updated in any way.

i might put in a "last notified" time stamp so that you can see when the next one will be sent if an update is made.

Sleave - I noticed that if I subscribed it would work but then when I hit the "back button" to go back to where I had come from which is pretty natural, and read the Subscribe text it would then say "you are unsubscribed" - Raystrach probably does not realise it is that "back" button undoing the work.......I think.
