The overhead volley is not an easy shot to perfect.

The finer detail in this stroke is the angle of the racket face on the backswing.
Note, the racket face is open, and the face of the racket will hit the outside of the ball imparting a lot of cut/spin on the ball, therefore giving better angle, and control of the speed of the shot; as well as more shot options, eg volley, volley boast, drop volley, from the same position.
I like this shot, it is very deceptive.
Unlike lots of amateur players who strike the ball with a flat face, and often wonder why the volley really does nothing too much to the play. Give it a try, and keep trying it. How to add images to Members' Forum posts and replies here...
