"Dear Squash Fans,
US OPEN 2006 - Boston 13th -16th November - www.usopensquash.com
What a field we have in store for this year's US Open all LIVE on www.psalive.tv The draw has been made and we have potentially an awesome line up with Ramy Ashour, the new kid on the block, competing in his first event as a World top 10 player.
The draw is in and we are guaranteed a truly great tournament. Assuming seeded players progress we potentially could have the following:
World #1 Amr Shabana is back to form after Hong Kong (watch the final now available as a replay) and is seeded to meet British Open Champion Nick Matthew in the quarter finals.
The 2nd quarter final has 3 star draws with Ramy Ashour against Anthony Ricketts in a 2nd Round match on the 13th Novemebr. Ricketts beat Ashour easily in Saudi but remember that Palmer beat Ashour 3-0 in Liverpool and then look what happened in that Hong Kong semi-final. If successful in the second round, James Willstrop waits for the winner in the 2nd quarter final.
The 3rd Quarter has amazingly brought together the two top French players yet ag ain in a repeat of the English Open Final that went all the way. Thierry Lincou v Gregory Gaultier will be a massive match with both players at the top of their game.
And then the 4th quarter has 3 former world #1's. John White (recently beat Amr Shabana at the British Open) is drawn to play David Palmer on Round 2 (White beat Palmer in Bermuda 05) and Lee Beachill will wait for the winner in the quarter final and of course that would be a repeat of last years fantastic final which we saw LIVE on PSALIVE.
A really interesting draw with many other top players in the top 20 all providing potential banana skins for the seeded players.
