Hey squash masters. It's been 8 months since I start this addictive sport. My squash routine lately has been 1 day of 1 hr game followed by 4-5 days of 2 hr practice (that's pretty much everyday of the week...). I was just wondering if there's any rule of thumb on resting period in squash. i.e. For weight training it is said that you should work out every other day to achieve maximum progress and it actually hurts you to train everyday. Is there any such rule of thumb like that in squash? I sort of noticed my shoulder getting stiff by the last day of the training on every week.

After you have had a good look and digested the info you should get an idea about periodisation. An overuse injury could wipe out all the gain if you overdo it.
Let's know how you go?
