I'm a personal trainer with a couple of young (high school) aged kids as clients. They are quite competitive players and I wanted to know of any Books or DVDs that you guys have found worth while. I have experience training tennis players and have used some of the same techniques but I really want to learn more specifically for squash. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Andy

There are a couple of avenues...
Geoff Hunt on Squash is cheap 2nd hand and seems now to be readily available. It is straight forward, easy to read and importantly makes sense. I taught myself to play using it as a teenager.
Read some of the coaching advice here and on WSF.org they are excellent resources.
Look out for Jehengar and Rahmat Khans' instructional video (it is probably available on DVD now i suppose) as it, too, is excellent. In it you will see probably the best player ever to take up the sport and how HE practices.
I see perhaps it is fitness you were refering to... Hunt has some suggestions, WSF.org is helpful too.
You should tailor their training around the idea that they are going to do LOTS of real short sprints - it is almost mini interval training. They need to have that road work endurance too. Strength in the wrists, knees and legs in general. I believe no players under state level have strong enough wrists. At my gym I regularly do squats, leg strength work, and rope skipping. Occasionally followed by some heavy bag work (you can go for 2-3 minutes a time dancing around the bag which makes for a good cardio workout and a bit of foot speed). Squash requires stamina AND speed in equal measure. I think training them as a middle distance runner would might go close to the mark.
