Good Morning/Evening/ Whatever to Everybody.
I am S H O C K E D... New training regime is killing me. Actually it's unbelieavably hard, why do I do that?
Is anyone from you familiar with the jogging excercise :
- set the jogging machine on the angle level nr. 2;
- set the speed at 15 km/hr per 8 minutes
- repeat three times;
It is impossible for the average human being to do that. I am DEAD! I do not think I can move any leg or arm of mine, so I am sorry to sound ike fool today... I will be honest I did fail today.

Regarding the runner training - it was the idea from new coach to improve my stamina and actually I think he does it to everybody. But I did refuse as one of few ...

So speed is the next thing - combining the aerobic and anaerobic systems just as if you were playing a long five setter.
Use the ghosting too so you are at least getting the court movement and feel for the strides within the court, and distance from the corners, etc. as well. The court movement is not really like running as there is flexion and weight transfer happening too, and that combined with the racket work, is really not the same. You got it, the steps, the lunging, the recovery, the racket work, and so on.
You have to enjoy the training so whatever it takes to keep it interesting.

As I mentioned in my first post I DID FAIL that test of super runner show. ANd I really found it supersilly and that's why you read about it. What Ray wrotes makes more sense. It's about rapid speed in a rallies up to 2 minutes, isn't it?

At this rate you could either end up burnt out or worn out.

you would be better off breaking that up into 12 X 2 minute circuits at the same pace with anything from 15 secs - 1 minute break in between.

Playing squash will increase endurance too.
But, my question is, if you are in the competitive phase, the majority of the work should be very specific to the game, eg Movement, Tactics, Skills, Mental training, Ghosting, with a jog once a week.
Periodisation is an important part of a sport that can be played all year around, so take a read and you can then work it out to suit your specific needs.
