In a recent match an opponent claimed that it was illegal to change from playing left handed to right handed or visa versa in the middle of a rally. Not something I've heard of before. Has anyone else or is it a load of rubbish?

Here is a link to a previous post on switching hands.
You are right. It is a lot of rubbish and you can use whatever hand you like.
Provided your technique is not suffering by changing hands just keep enjoying your game.
However, if changing hands slows you down, and you are having any problems in the corners it might be worth having a look at our Strokes and Movement section
Do you feel you are advantaged or disadvantaged by changing hands during the game?
